Images of The River Wey and the Wey Navigation. A forthcoming exhibition!

From Sutton Place to Wisley

the River Wey and the Wey Navigation

Early next year we are planning an exhibition in Ripley Museum about the local stretch of the River Wey and the Wey Navigation.

As part of this, we would love you to get out and about with your cameras and phones and take pictures of how you see the river…

We plan to feature a few photos in the exhibition and show more digitally. If we get enough entries we hope to have a one-off exhibition either in Ripley or Send.

You can submit more than one picture, either in hard copy (minimum size A5) or digitally. Entry is FREE however if the exhibition goes ahead, and your photo is chosen then we would welcome a small contribution towards printing costs.

Reflection on the “War to end all wars”

The exhibition features local memories, photos and artefacts from before the war

Reflection on the "War to end all wars"

We are very excited that this exhibition has, in the main, been created by The Surrey Infantry Museum and contains some background on the Queens’ regiment, the local men from Send and Ripley who served, as well as a look forward to the future of the Surrey Infantry Museum.

In particular, we are hoping that Surrey people, whose families have connections to the regiment will come along and share those memories.

The exhibition will run until the end of January 2019 – every Saturday 10 – 12.30 pm next to Ripley Village Hall.
