Research project into Send and Ripley residents involved in WWI
The Send and Ripley History Society is undertaking a research project into Send and Ripley residents involved in WWI, either in the services or as a civilian on the Home Front.
We are interested in hearing from anyone who has memories or family stories, memorabilia, or documents relating to any activities, whether as members of the services and their involvement, or civilians in support of the war effort.
The Research Group would like to incorporate photographs, documents, medals, or other material. If these items could be photographed or copied, the Group would be most grateful and would, of course, acknowledge all sources.
The Group would also like to hear relevant stories that residents or ex-residents of Send and Ripley.
There is a possibility that a book may be produced that would properly commemorate all those who put their lives on the line for the rest of us, and also all those who supported them in all sorts of ways back home during WWI.
If you haven’t already been in touch with us you can contact us by any of the following methods with whatever information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be. You never know, your little piece of information could well be the last piece of a much larger story that brings it all together!
We can be contacted through the Society website’s ‘Contact Us’ page, by post at Send and Ripley History Society WWI Project, 40 Wentworth Close, Ripley, Surrey GU23 6DB, or by e-mail angela@abpublishing.com
