About our website

Hello and welcome to our new website.

This is now the second revision of our original site started some 12 years ago. My name is Chris Brown and I am delighted to have been associated with the society since 2002 when I first approached them about having a website. The site itself has been through various changes over the years and the 2015 site includes many additional features such as online ordering and a powerful search engine for the many journals which have been produced over the years by the society.

I have lived in Send for over 40 years and my mother, Sheila Brown, was one of the founder members all those years ago when a group of individuals agreed to start a history society. My Mother has written one of the books for the society, “Two Surrey Village Schools”, and she has been a contributor to the journals for many years, as well as being the Treasurer and Secretary.

As an IT Professional myself, it gives me great pleasure to be able to help the society with a website which has enabled people contact us from all over the world.
